Project Memory
In RADAR's exploration of connecting architecture with other arts, it was decided to participate in the Architecture Competition "Temporary Artistic Residence for 1001 Nights", understanding this as a community of people living in an ephemeral space, who request the design of a housing cell not exceeding 8m2 that would be located on the terrace of 1001 Nights. The interior could house: musicians, ceramists, sculptors, painters, actors, writers, designers, textile artists, etc.

As a design principle, the aim is to generate a flexible space that accommodates the multiplicity of uses required and a mobile, changing user. The latter makes us reflect on the enduring, a condition that we seek to break.
The cabin is divided into three modules, distributed at different heights and arranged and structured by a wooden frame, explained as areas whose uses can change:
Movement : Located at ground level, it is understood as an access or flow area, allowing greater movement of the user.
Senses : Conceived as a viewpoint, 1m above the ground and 2 meters from floor to ceiling, giving a certain degree of independence and allowing it to be used as a workshop or a reading place.
Rest : Thought as a bedroom; for its horizontality, and for the independence it acquires given the 2 meters high in which it is located.
The interior is surrounded by a translucent lycra textile membrane, which protects the spaces, allowing "seeing and being seen" and in turn the rainwater coming together in the center of the work. Rains are highly likely given the semi-tropical climate,
These micro-spaces are articulated / divided by a central wall of earth with seeds, which makes the rooms independent. In turn, after the passage of time and with 460 million drops of water, this wall will spread on the ground and will be the support for the projected vegetation to grow, evoking the true nature of the material (wood) and concluding its cycle.
